Reminder: Haiti is a sovereign nation

Until now I've been holding my tongue about the outpouring of support towards Haiti, because generous help is better than nothing. Even wrapped in a public relations blitz, even if I do have to watch Beyoncé sing "Haiti I can see your halo, I'm surrounded by your embrace" on every channel. (4) comments

Dear Bookstore and Textbook Industry: Stop Exploiting Students

The cost of textbooks has always been an issue for conscientious, frugal students. But at the end of the fall semester, I realized how complacent we have been as students by allowing ourselves to be exploited. Once again the President of the United States delivered a beautiful combination of words that braced the public for what his agenda for the country, and possibly the world, will be. This year, to give a small synopsis of what he proposed, he talked about how he wants to push his student loans forgiveness program for those who want to step into public service for a certain amount of years, his incentives program for those businesses that create jobs here in the U.
