On Fri. December 2, the St. Norbert College Student Choirs and Bands put on their annual "Festival of Christmas" concert in Walter Theater. The theater was packed with family, friends and community members from the greater Green Bay community.
The different bands and choirs did a magnificent job performing traditional holiday and Christmas classics that the whole audience loved. The concert had an excellent balance between the performances, audience engagement and storytelling.
The concert featured Dr. Sarah Parks, Dr. Michael Knight, assistant professors of music, and Dr. Michael Rosewall, associate professor of music, as directors. Elaine Moss, coordinator of keyboard studies, and Anna Vanden Hogan '13 accompanied on the piano, Claire Westlie '14 on flute, Dr. Linda Cook, assistant professor of music, on the handbells, Brian Anderson '14 on the bass, Rebeckah Knitt '12 on the oboe, Christopher Cramer on the guitar, Abbygaile Mushero '13 on the windchimes, and a soloist performances by Lauren Belanger '14.
During the concert the Music Department announced the winner of the annual "St. Norbert Christmas Angels Award". This year was one of our very own, Dr. David A. Duquette, professor of philosophy. The concert concluded with the song "Hallelujah" by all the bands and choirs, along with audience participation. Overall, the concert provided all the perfect ingredients for a knight of holiday spirit on the St Norbert Campus.
