Welcome my fellow Norberteens to the official SNC Times Entertainment Blog. If you simply cannot get enough of reading our wonderful section of the newspaper addressing current news in the world of movies, music, and literature, then this blog will the perfect place to get your fix. This blog was the brainchild of Entertainment Section leader Colin Herzog and I, in which our idea was to create an outlet for articles that can’t be squeezed within a regular SNC Times newspaper, and to give students more reason to visit the website by reading articles that cannot be found in the paper. Every week new blog posts will be published on the SNC Times website (snctimes.com) by our hotshot team of Entertainment writers. Hopefully you’ll find the articles posted on this blog fun and a bit informative.

Prepare Yourselves…Game of Thrones Season 3 Trailer is Here

Premiering February 23on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the big reveal was made of the trailer for the upcoming third season of “Game of Thrones”, which comes charging back onto HBO on March 31. Kimmel, who is a big fan of “Game of Thrones,” has had many of the cast members from the hit show guest star including Emilia Clarke and Leana Headey. The season three trailer has already sky-rocketed to two million views on Youtube.

The minute-long sneak peak shows a lot of the Season 2 regulars such as Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) who is displaying the ugly scar that he got from the climactic battle of the previous season, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) who seems to have gathered an army, Jon Snow (Kit Harington), and the ever hate-able King Joffery (Jack Gleeson).

The HBO series is based on the best-selling fantasy-epic novel series “Songs of Ice and Fire” by George R. R. Martin. This season will be covering the first half of the third novel “A Storm of Swords,” which is also the longest book in the series.

I first discovered “Game of Thrones” last summer and I was hooked right from the first episode. I was truly taken away by the show’s wide array of memorable characters, sharp dialogue, intricate political intrigue and moral ambiguity. The trailer does not give too much away but it looks like things are not going to get easier for our favorite group of warriors, kings, queens, and rogues. The last shot showing one of Daenerys’ dragons, which has grown bigger, is hopefully a foreshadowing for the fantastical excellence in store for this season.

Amazing Quote from Trailer:“There’s a beast in every man, and it stirs when you put a sword in his hand.”—Jorah Mormont (played by Iain Glen), Daenerys’ bodyguard
